Basic Information
Ben's Hens has been offering Beyond Organic Pasture-Raised Goat since 2024. Since day one, our goal has been to provide a real, whole, quality, and nutrient-dense Goat. We have gone through a few different iterations to determine what works best to raise Goat in our context. It has been a challenge, but each year, we get closer to achieving the Goat we set out to produce.
Goats are our weak spot. As we narrow down the breed of Goat that will work best for our context, we hope to produce both Meat and Milk for our Members. Currently, our Goat Herd is very small, with a mix of the following breeds: Alpine, Toggenburg, Nubian, and Boer.
We practice Regenerative Agriculture and choose to Pasture-Raise all our Goats. We do our best to mimic nature and work with nature in a delicate balance. Because of Milk production and the 'Escape Factor', we keep our Goats very close to home. Goats intended for Meat, are Rotationally Grazed with our Lambs. In addition, our Goats are NOT medicated.
